I can never seem to find enough time in the day to get everything done and laundry is one of those things!

I am not sure which part of doing laundry is the worst. Reaching my hands into my little boys’ pockets to see what treasures they have stored in there to surprise me, folding (need I say more), or actually putting it all away rather than just delivering a basket to the bedroom. Because of the many steps to doing laundry from start to finish, there isn’t a lot of time to spare for delays, like waiting for the clothes to dry.

We have all been there.  We check the dryer and the clothes still aren’t dry, so we add a few more minutes to the drying cycle.  After doing this a few times, we finally give up and fold the clothes still damp at the collar just so we can get home!

We can all use some tips on how to make the clothes dry faster, so here are a few!

Tips for Drying Clothes Faster

Sort Clothes

Sort your laundry according to the thickness or heaviness of the material.  Dry your lighter weight materials in one load and the heavier types of denim or towels in a different load.  This will allow the lighter material to dry much faster and leave the dryer with the heavier items with more room to move around so they can dry faster!  All in all, a huge time saver!

Use Dryer Balls                                                                                 Dryer balls for drying clothes faster

Use dryer balls.  These handy little things help keep your clothes from bunching up into one, big, damp clump in the dryer, by separating them into their individual pieces. As an added benefit, these dryer balls also act as a chemical-free fabric softener!

Use the Right Drying Equipment

Use high-speed front load washers.  Front load washers are able to spin the water out of your clothes much better than a top load washer can. The spin cycle is important because it removes the excess water out of the laundry before it is put into the dryer.  The less moisture there is in your laundry, the less drying time you will need and your clothes can dry even faster than if you had used a top loader!

The Dutchman’s offers new, energy efficient, high-speed washers that spin the water out so well that customers have said that their clothes hardly felt wet.  Many first time customers have been so impressed with how fast their clothes have dried all becauseEfficient front-load dryers for drying clothes faster of our efficient washers!

Find an Appropriately-Sized Dryer

Use the right sized dryer.  We offer three sizes of dryers at The Dutchman’s, which makes it so convenient for large loads to be placed into one large dryer rather than having to split upload into several small dryers. If you have enough laundry to fill up one of our 6 or 8 load washers, then you should use one of our largest dryers rather than trying to save money by putting it all into 1 or 2 small dryers.  By shoving all of your clothes into one small dryer you actually don’t save money or time because it is going to take the clothes much longer to dry since they can’t tumble around and allow the air to circulate between the clothes.Front-load, high-speed dryers

Choose the Best Laundromat Near You

Lastly, pick the right Laundromat.  You want a Laundromat that not only has efficient washers but also offers hot dryers that are properly maintained.  If a Laundromat does not maintain its dryers by cleaning out the lint filters daily, it is going to take you much longer to dry your clothes because of the lint buildup in the dryer. The Dutchman’s Laundry makes it a point to clean out our lint filters on a daily basis, so we can take better care of our customers and their laundry needs.

We hope that you can make use of these tips the next time you are at The Dutchman’s Laundry! We are always happy to see our customers and to help wherever we can! We mean that so much that we even loan out some dryer balls for our customers to use!  Just ask for them at the back office! Happy drying!
